This university complex consists of two faculties: the Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy and the Faculty of Applied Technical Sciences in Mitrovica.
Although the two faculty buildings are developed as separate volumes, the urban concept creates shared squares and courtyards that serve both facilities and allow them to function as one integrated university complex. Special attention was given to the urban and functional organization of movement within the interior spaces, as well as to the exterior areas in front of and behind the buildings, including amphitheaters, parking areas, accessibility for persons with special needs and emergency exits.
The buildings are designed with regular cubic forms and dynamic façade movements, creating opportunities for strong urban and functional integration around a central axis of vertical communication. Cantilevered elements create a play of light and shadow, defining the volumes and establishing a continuous façade composition. The use of carefully selected materials further contributes to the unique architectural identity of the university complex.
